The Faculty of Medicine is the largest faculty of the Medical Institute of the North Caucasus State Academy, where more than 700 students study. The training of students in the specialty "General Medicine" has been carried out since 2004.

The profession of a doctor is one of the most noble and vital professions on Earth. For 6 years, students study humanitarian, natural science, fundamental and clinical medical disciplines. They acquire skills in providing timely planned and emergency medical care, methods of diagnosing various diseases, and implementing rehabilitation and preventive measures.

Educational activities at the institute are carried out by 18 departments, 9 of which are attached to the dean's office of General Medicine:

1. Department of Internal Medicine 

2. Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery 

3. Department of Topographic and Pathological Anatomy with a Course in Operative Surgery 

4. Department of Human Morphology 

5. Department of Surgical Diseases 

6. Department of Hospital Surgery with a Course in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation (graduating department). 

7. Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases

8. Department of Oncology . Acting Head of the Department 

9. Department of Epidemiology, Hygiene and Infectious Diseases 

In addition to basic knowledge, students who show interest in science successfully engage in research activities and win prizes at Russian and International Olympiads. Students also combine their studies with social and volunteer activities.

A graduate who has mastered the educational program of the specialty "General Medicine" and successfully passed the State Final Attestation is awarded the qualification of "General Medicine Physician" in the specialty 31.05.01 "General Medicine".

After passing the primary accreditation procedure, the graduate has the right to practice medicine. And to obtain a medical specialization, it is necessary to study in a clinical residency. Our institute has residency programs in the following specialties: 31.08.28 Gastroenterology, 31.08.36 Cardiology, 31.08.49 Therapy, 31.08.58 Otolaryngology, 31.08.63 Cardiovascular surgery, 31.08.67 Surgery, 31.08.73 Therapeutic dentistry, 31.08.57 Oncology, 31.08.02 Anesthesiology and resuscitation.
