General Information

The Medical Institute of the North Caucasus State Academy was established in 2004 to solve the personnel problem in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic in the most popular specialty - the specialty of a doctor. In accordance with the license for the right to conduct educational activities in the field of higher education, the institute provides training in the specialty 31.05.01 General Medicine . Since 2016, the Medical Institute of the North Caucasus State Academy has been training foreign students in the specialty 31.05.01 General Medicine with the inclusion of English.

Since 2022, the Medical Institute of the North Caucasus State Academy has begun implementing the educational program 33.05.01 Pharmacy.

The medical institute trains specialists in the fields of " General Medicine", "Pediatrics", "Dentistry", "Medical Cybernetics" and "Pharmacy", who can subsequently become therapists, surgeons, obstetricians-gynecologists, neuropathologists, psychiatrists, ophthalmologists, forensic experts, pathologists , dentists, pediatricians, pediatric surgeons, cyberneticists, pharmacists, etc.

Classes for students of the 1st to 3rd years are held in comfortable classrooms, well-equipped laboratories function: normal anatomy, pathological anatomy, chemistry, biology with the basics of ecology, microbiology, normal and pathological physiology, hygiene with the basics of ecology. There are laboratories for histology, operative surgery and topographic human anatomy, pharmacology, as well as a vivarium and a Simulation Center. In senior years, classes in clinical disciplines are held at training bases in the leading medical and preventive institutions of the republic, with which the relevant agreements have been concluded.

Thanks to federal funding, the institute purchases expensive medical and educational equipment, necessary literature, and carries out necessary repairs to classrooms located at clinical sites.

After graduating from the university, graduates can continue their postgraduate education in postgraduate studies and clinical residency at the departments of medical universities in Russia, as well as in residency in therapy, cardiology, gastroenterology, cardiovascular surgery, therapeutic dentistry, surgery and otolaryngology at the departments of the Medical Institute of the North Caucasus State Academy of Medicine. Graduates can engage in research activities in theoretical and fundamental areas of medicine.
