About

The history of the Law Institute of the North Caucasus State Academy dates back to 1995. Originally established as the Faculty of Business and Law of the Karachay-Cherkess State Technological Institute, by the end of the year, the faculty had been staffed with qualified professors and teachers and had the necessary material and technical resources to support the research work of students and all types of educational activities. In 2009, the faculty was transformed into the Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship, which switched to a two-tier education system, including the training of bachelors in law. In June 2014, at a meeting of the Academic Council of SevkavGGTU, a decision was made to establish the Law Institute, which today is represented as a multifunctional complex that combines modern educational technologies and instils in students the necessary set of fundamental knowledge, skills and abilities in law and law enforcement.

The educational process at the institute is carried out within the framework of approved curricula and is organised in accordance with regulatory and directive documents. In their senior years, students of the Law Institute undergo industrial and pre-diploma internships (an integral part of the training of a modern specialist) directly in state bodies and organisations whose work profile corresponds to their chosen specialisation.

The scientific activity of the institute is primarily represented in the form of publications by the teaching staff. There are publications of all types and levels. Scientific and representative events of regional, federal and international levels are also held at the institute at a high level.

Career guidance work at the Law Institute focuses on two areas:

– attracting applicants by holding open days, participating in education fairs and helping senior high school students to decide on their future careers through visits to secondary education institutions;

– assisting graduates in finding employment by offering all types of internships and maintaining strong ties with judicial, legislative, executive, law enforcement and law enforcement agencies in the region and the North Caucasus Federal District.

The Institute's creative union of teachers and students, which includes joint educational events, embodies the concept of unity in the professional education of students, helping to develop their creative, athletic and scientific potential, as well as high moral and ethical qualities and devotion to the ideals and values of the modern state.

The specificity of legal education ensures a direct and inseparable link between the educational process and practice through:

a) close interaction with officials of state bodies (representatives of potential employers);

b) the organisation of industrial and pre-diploma internships for students;

c) a legal clinic operating on the basis of the Academy.

The most important priorities for the development of the Law Institute today are:

– improving the quality of educational and scientific activities;

– ensuring a high level of demand for the results of these activities in practice and on the labour market;

– integration into the global educational and scientific space.
