Information about the material and technical support of educational activities

To conduct the educational process at a high scientific and methodological level, there is the necessary educational and material base.

At the present moment the Chair has 7 training laboratories with specialized equipment, computers for laboratory and practical works in such disciplines as "Strength of Materials", "Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Graphics" and others, as well as in all the sections of general physics course. The lecture rooms of the department are equipped with computer, multimedia equipment for showing educational films and presentations.

Employees of the department annually publish educational and methodical manuals that correspond to the FSES programs.

Historical background

The Department of General Engineering and Natural Sciences was formed in 2015 as a result of the merger of the Departments of General Engineering Disciplines and Physics.

In turn, the Department of General Engineering Disciplines was formed in 2010, as a result of the merger of the departments "Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering" and "Mechanics and Material Resistance". Each of these departments had a long history of development, beginning with the opening of the Cherkeses branch of the Stavropol Polytechnic Institute. Since its inception, the Department of General Engineering Disciplines has been headed by Associate Professor Rauf Galimovich Borsov. Since July 2013 the Acting Head of the Department has been Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Albert Mukhadinovich Kidakoev.

The Physics Department was one of the leading departments of SevKavGTA, it has been operating since the foundation of the branch of Stavropol Polytechnic Institute in 1970. At different times wonderful physicists worked in the department - founders of the basic part of the department - Ph, Associate Professor Kakhar Kanamatovich Lamkov, Associate Professor Alik Ramazanovich Dzyba, Ph.D. in Physics, Professor Svetlana Magometovna Tlisova (Banova), Semen Samvelovich Muradyants. At one time the department was headed by Mukhamed Danilievich Bavizhev, a well-known laureate of the State Prize.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Currently, the Department of General Engineering and Natural Sciences provides fundamental training of specialists and bachelors of junior courses of all areas and specialties of the Academy in the natural sciences: physics, problems of modern physics, basic physics and biophysics, the concept of modern natural science, as well as all the technical areas of the Academy in the disciplines of the professional cycle: strength of materials, descriptive geometry and engineering graphics, theoretical mechanics, theory of mechanisms and machines

The educational process is provided by a highly qualified teaching staff with many years of teaching and research experience in higher education.

At the department is active scientific work Professor Borlakov H.Sh. and Associate Professor Dokumova L.S. with graduate students in condensed matter physics, in the course of which grants have repeatedly been won.
