Historical background
The department "Operation of motor transport" was established in 1991 after the formation of the Cherkessk branch of the Stavropol Polytechnic Institute Karachaevo-Cherkessk Institute of Technology (KCHTI). In the same year the first admission of students to the specialty 190601.65 - Automobiles and automotive economy was made. The first full-time graduates were enrolled for the degree in 1996, and the first correspondence students in 1998. In 2001 was launched the new specialty - 190702.65- Traffic Organization and Safety, which in 2007 made the first promotion of engineers with the specialization Traffic Organization.
In the process of formation and development of the department was created a modern laboratory base for both specialties, was formed a faculty, which includes highly qualified specialists. At present at the Department of operation and maintenance of machines, works 11 teachers, including 1 doctor of science, professor, 7 candidates of science, associate professors, 2 senior lecturers, 4 external partners.
Since its inception the department has been headed by Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Takhtamishev Khizir Mahmudovich. Since July 2013, Associate Professor Kaziev Shamil Magamedovich was appointed as acting head of the department. Since October 2013, on the basis of the order of the rector №624/0 of 20.10.2013. "On the merger of departments", graduate departments "Exploitation of motor transport" and "Reliability and technical service of machines" were merged into one, with the common name of the newly formed department "Exploitation and technical service of machines".
General Information
Research work is one of the most important components of the department of operation and technical service of machines.
The main scientific direction of the department's teachers is "Optimization of capacity and stocks of automobile transport and auto service enterprises". On the basis of this direction are carried out scientific researches on economic contractual themes with auto service enterprises, the results of which are used in practice.
Serious attention is also paid to the research work of students. Under the guidance of teachers of the department students participate in federal and regional scientific-practical conferences of students, young scientists and graduate students.
The department actively cooperates with many motor transport and car service companies of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, thus providing the possibility of internships for students and job placement for graduates in the specialty.
