Specialisation (profile) ‘Environmental Design’
For specialists with a specialisation in 54.03.01 Design, specialisation (profile) ‘Environmental Design’ The objects of design and practical activities are the subject-spatial and architectural environment, complexes, exterior and interior design of buildings and structures, open urban spaces and park ensembles, their equipment and furnishings, subject, landscape and decorative forms. Environmental design is the process of creating practical, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing conditions for human domestic, social and productive activities.
Types of professional activities for which graduates who have completed the bachelor's programme are prepared:
artistic;
project-based;
information technology;
Specialisation (profile) ‘Costume Design’
For specialists with training in 54. 03.01 Design, specialisation (profile) ‘Costume Design’, the objects of design and practical activities are clothing, items, graphic works (in the field of textiles, knitwear, clothing, footwear, headwear, jewellery, advertising works, etc.) in their creative and practical aspects. The aim is to train specialists with professional erudition, high intellectual and moral-personal qualities, capable of working and living in the conditions of modern civilisation.

Specific types of activities are determined by the content of the educational programme developed by the university.
The main areas of research work of the department are monographs, articles, teaching aids and methodological developments in the disciplines studied.

The educational process in the field of training 54.03.01 Design, specialisation (profile) ‘Environmental Design’ is provided by specialised classrooms. Such disciplines as ‘Design’, ’ Construction in Environmental Design,’ Typology of Architectural Environment Forms, and other disciplines are taught in display classrooms on modern personal computers, where students have the opportunity to do their work using special design and graphics programs (3dsMAX, Corel, AdobePhotoshop, ArchiCad, etc.).
The design and model workshops are equipped with special tables that allow students to work on large formats using a wide-format plotter and equipment for making models.
The educational process in the field of training 54.03.01 Design, specialisation (profile) ‘Costume Design’ is supported by a well-established technical base in the form of two equipped specialised sewing laboratories. The laboratories are equipped with modern equipment for various purposes to perform all kinds of technological operations. Laboratory and practical classes are conducted under the guidance of highly qualified teachers, training masters, and process engineers. Classes in costume design, project implementation in materials, and mock-ups are provided with all the necessary materials, mannequins, and cutting tables.
For competitions, fashion festivals, and thesis defences, there are academic exhibition and catwalk halls equipped with modern music equipment and lighting systems. Traditional technical means are used in the learning process, as well as video and audio equipment, a music library, and a video library.
Students and teachers have access to a library with a large collection of materials on design, applied and fine arts, textiles, fashion, and historical ‘folk’ costumes.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Students of the Design Department participate in regional, national and international competitions with their design projects, competing not only with the work of students from leading design universities, but also with projects by professional designers, many of whom become laureates and winners. Even at the stage of training, our students have a real opportunity to gain professional skills through industrial practice.
Many of our graduates in the field of training 54. 03.01 Design, specialisation (profile) ‘Environmental Design’ hold leading positions in advertising agencies, book and magazine editorial offices, work successfully as leading specialists and managers in architectural and design bureaus, and are the authors of implemented urban design projects.
