The department is graduating on specialty 36.05.01 Veterinary medicine. The department has laboratories for the disciplines studied and the Veterinary Medicine Research and Production Center (Veterinary Clinic), which has laboratory equipment for all kinds of classes and research work of students that meets current sanitary and technical norms:
- laboratory of non-communicable diseases of animals;
- animal anatomy laboratory;
- laboratory of contagious animal diseases;
- Training Scientific and Production Center of Veterinary Medicine (Veterinary Clinic)
In the classrooms for use in the learning process there are training stands, visual aids, skeletons and plaster casts of animals, medical instruments, etc. The educational process at the university is focused on the upcoming practical activities of specialists.
Concluded Internship contracts with 19 agribusiness enterprises and veterinary institutions of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic.

The department is graduating on specialty 36.05.01 Veterinary medicine. In its activities, the Department is guided by current legislation and regulatory legal documents of the federal level. The department also has the necessary internal regulatory framework that regulates its activities.
Historical background
In accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of FSBEI VPO "SevKavGTA" dated 28.09.2016. Minutes № 01 Rector of FSBEI VPO "SevKavGTA issued an order dated 27.06.2018 № 570/ 0 on the establishment of the graduating department "Veterinary Medicine" by separation from the department "Veterinary Medicine and Technology of Agricultural Production".
General Information
The department is staffed by a highly professional teaching staff. There are 4 candidates of science in the department. The full-time teaching staff of the department is 100%. The research work of the department is aimed at the development, improvement of veterinary and sanitary measures in livestock farms of KCR, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of pets. Employees of the department take an active part in all methodical and scientific conferences held in the academy, as well as in international, all-Russian, regional scientific and practical conferences and are published in peer-reviewed editions recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation, such as: "Zootechnics", "Dairy and beef cattle breeding", "Sheep, goats, wool business", "Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences", "Veterinary", etc.
