Terms of consideration of a written request

1. A written request received by a state body, a local government body or an official in accordance with their competence shall be considered within 30 days from the date of registration of the written request, with the exception of the case specified in paragraph 1.1 of this Article.

1.1. A written appeal received by a senior official of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation (the head of the supreme executive body of state power of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation) and containing information on the facts of possible violations of the legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of migration is considered within 20 days from the date of registration of the written appeal.

2. In exceptional cases, as well as in the case of sending a request provided for in part 2 of Article 10 of this Federal Law, the head of a state body or local self-government body, an official or an authorized person has the right to extend the period for consideration of an appeal for no more than 30 days, notifying the citizen who sent the appeal about the extension of the period for its consideration.
